Total iPad Interview - Bojan

This past weekend I sat down and talked with Bojan Djordjevic of Alpha Efficiency and we discussed many topics about getting things done not only on an iPad but also OS X, iPhone, and even our past/present experiences with Android.

We discussed some of our favorite iOS and OS X applications and how we use those apps to increase productivity. One top that came out was "jailbreaking" and the reason he jail-broke his current iPhone to have access to some features found in Siri but not available in his country. If you are a reader of Total iPad then you might have read my post asking if you "jailbreak" your iOS devices, Bojan's answer was excellent and proves that sometimes "jailbreaking" a device is needed. I honestly didn't know that some features of iOS are unavailable to people who live outside of the U.S.A. I will probably do a follow up on that article with af few things I have learned from talking with Bojan.

Even though we jumped from topic to topic I think it was an overall great discussion about the ways we use our devices in our day to day life. I look forward to doing some follow up podcast with Bojan in the future.

Total iPad Interview - Talos Tsui

We sat down with Talos Tsui, co-founder of the Iconfactory. We discussed how the Iconfactory got started in the industry, changes to the Twitter API and how it may affect Twitterific going forward[1]. Thoughts on the App Store. Some of the other terrific applications the Iconfactory has for the Mac as well as their great iOS Apps.

It was a terrific discussion and we thoroughly enjoyed having Talos as a guest on Total iPad. If you are curious about how these new changes to the Twitter API may affect your favorite 3rd party Twitter client then have a listen. Talos did an excellent job in helping us understand how things will work for Twitter clients moving forward.

  1. Talos wanted to make sure I noted that he made an error discussing authorizing apps in Twitter, Twitterrific and Twitterrific for Mac are two separate authorizations.  ↩

Total iPad Interview - Derek Ross

I sat down this past week with Derrick Ross of Android Authority and Jennifer Ruggiero my co-host on Total iPad and we discussed the Nexus 7 tablet. It seems Android has finally caught up to iOS in user experience as far as scrolling and smoothness of the UI is concerned thanks to Jelly Bean. I will admit I am also intrigued with the smaller form factor and currently the iPad 'Air' is only a rumor at the moment. I do currently have 2 Android devices in my possession and I have owned several other devices as well, 6 in total. Even though I am a proud iPad owner I will be dammed if Derrick didn't make me want to buy a Nexus 7 by the end of the show.

I started out wanting to compare the iPad to the Nexus 7, but even as Derek points out during the conversation they seem to be 2 different devices and probably not a good comparison. So the conversation was mostly about the Nexus 7 which was perfectly fine with me, I am an iPad guy but I am also intrigued by other devices as well. I hope this discussion will help those on the ropes about which tablet to buy and even though we don't go into great detail about the iPad, I have an entire site dedicated to just about everything there is to know about the iPad. So listen to the discussion and when you are done if you decide the Nexus 7 is not right for you then check out Total iPad for everything you could ever want to know about the iPad.

I would like to thank Derek for taking the time to join Jennifer and I, if you are looking for more great Android discussion and links then you should circle Derek on his Google+ Profile.

You can also circle Jennifer and I on Google+ as well:

Total iPad Interview - Irene Koehler

Before I went on a vacation a week ago I had the chance to sit down with Irene Koehler of Almost Savvy (Social Media News, Views and How-to's). This was probably my favorite interview I have done for Total iPad so far because it wasn't really an interview but it was more of a discussion about two things I am passionate about: iPad and social media. Total iPad Interview - Max Stewart

I had the honor of interviewing Max Stewart of AppSophic/Ai2, he is their Director of Marketing. We had a wonderful discussion about using the iPad, some of Max's favorite applications as well as getting down to the nitty gritty of DragNSync and the Ai2 enterprise application for the iPad.

AppSophic is the company behind DragNSync a file management and hidden folder application for the iPad. We discuss DragNSync at length, talking about some of the features of the application, a few changes they had to make to the application so that Apple would allow it in the App Store as an all ages app, as well as how to use DragNSync on the iPad.

Ai2 is a separate company and is in no way related to DragNSync, but we discuss what Ai2 is doing on the iPad side of things. Ai2 develops an application on the iPad called ProSel. ProSel is a Sales Force automation and remote order solution application for the iPad.

Total iPad Interview - Logan Sease

Last night after recording Episode 15 of Total iPad, I had a chance to interview an iOS developer, Logan Sease. Logan not only develops for iOS but he also ports some of his iOS applications to Android as well. During the interview I asked him question about when he started coding and what was the first programming language he learned, why he started coding for iOS, and what applications he currently has in the iOS App Store.

The 2nd part of the interview was all about unFed unDead, this is Logan's upcoming social game to be released on the iPhone on June 29, 2012. I have played the beta version of it and I can honestly say it is a fun and unique gaming experience, it has a different feel to it than other iOS games I have played. Once unFed unDead is released you will team up with 3 of your iPhone toting buddies and feed on the humans. Facebook will be integrated with unFed unDead and you will be able to see your friends high scores, there is also a social game API that Logan has released for other developers to use. When unFed unDead is launched it will be iPhone only although an iPad version is in the works and will be released at a later date, unFed unDead will be $0.99 in the iOS App Store once released. Bonus level, yeah, I will not talk about that but it is awesome! Trust me, once it is released and you unlock the bonus level you will love it!

unFed unDead is now available for download: unFed unDead by iParty! Mobile

Finally, I would like to personally thank Logan for taking the time to do this interview with me for Total iPad.
