Episode 36 - Writing Apps

On this episode of Total iPad, episdoe 36 I invited Bojan to come back and join me for a discussion on writing apps and using Drafts with those applications to create workflows via our iOS devices and our OS X machines. We did overlap a little bit of our converstation from the week before but we stayed more focused on this one topic whereas the week before we kinda bounced from topic to topic. Overall I think we had a terrific discussion and invite you listen in as well get down to the nitty gritty of how we use our iOS devices in conjunction with our daily workflows.

If you have a question or comment about anything we discussed on this podcast please feel free to send me a message on Twitter @iCrizzo.

Total iPad Interview - Bojan

This past weekend I sat down and talked with Bojan Djordjevic of Alpha Efficiency and we discussed many topics about getting things done not only on an iPad but also OS X, iPhone, and even our past/present experiences with Android.

We discussed some of our favorite iOS and OS X applications and how we use those apps to increase productivity. One top that came out was "jailbreaking" and the reason he jail-broke his current iPhone to have access to some features found in Siri but not available in his country. If you are a reader of Total iPad then you might have read my post asking if you "jailbreak" your iOS devices, Bojan's answer was excellent and proves that sometimes "jailbreaking" a device is needed. I honestly didn't know that some features of iOS are unavailable to people who live outside of the U.S.A. I will probably do a follow up on that article with af few things I have learned from talking with Bojan.

Even though we jumped from topic to topic I think it was an overall great discussion about the ways we use our devices in our day to day life. I look forward to doing some follow up podcast with Bojan in the future.

Snapseed for iPad (Review)

Snapseed is a photography editing application for iOS and OSX. It is a powerful tool on the iPad for photo editing on the go. It is $4.99 in the App Store and is a universal application that will run on both the iPad and iPhone. It is also available on the Mac in the Mac App Store for $19.99. I highly recommend this application. If you are looking for a powerful image editor on your iPad, this is a must have app!

Day One (Review)

Day One is a journal or diary application for the Mac, iPad and iPhone. It syncs beautifully between devices. It is a universal application for the iOS devices and it cost $1.99 for the iPad/iPhone. The Mac version is a little more expensive it is $9.99 but worth every penny. It offers password protection on both iOS and OSX platforms,   it uses iCloud or Dropbox to syncs notes/entries between devices. In my opinion this is the best journal application in the app store.
