Huffington Post magazine
If you are a reader of the Huffington Post I recommend you download the app on your iPad.
Huffington's content will emphasize the rich -- and richly rewarding -- interactions that come from uninterrupted time spent in the company of creative minds. Within these pages are stories to be savored, passed among friends and family, read -- and re-read -- in bed or in sunny rooms over a late breakfast and multiple cups of coffee. Because, as with books and print magazines, there's something about tablet reading that frees you from the push and pull of the news cycle.

iOS 5 Core Frameworks
If you are looking to get started with iOS development so can create the next awesome iPad app for me to review and you have a basic understanding of how the frameworks operate, this is the book for you. The author offers all the example projects in this book for download on his website and it makes following along with the book very easy to understand, he is very thorough in explaining how each process works, as well this book provides great screenshots to help you when you are reading along and in Xcode at the same time. Jumping from iOS 4 to iOS 5 brought a lot of changes not only with the actual OS on the phone but also for developing applications running iOS 5, with the new features in iOS 5 such as iCloud this book does a great job of explaining how to implement them in your application. This book is up to date, most of the other books on Amazon are dated and do not offer the updated info for Xcode 4.2.

iBook Alerts
How to set up alerts
Open iBooks on your iPad, if iBooks opens up to your bookshelf you will need to tap on the store button on the top left. Now that you're viewing the iBooks store you can either search for your favorite author using the search bar on the top right or you can search for a book the author wrote, once you see the search result you are looking for tap book to read the description and the ratings.
On the top right of this page you will see several options, you are looking for "Alert Me"
Tap that and an alert page will open and you will receive a blue popup box asking you to confirm by clicking "OK", tap OK.
After you tap OK you will be on a blank page, tap the Featured button on the top left that will take you back to the previous page. You have now successfully set up an alert for your desired author.
Manage your alerts
You can also manage your alerts or setup alerts for your desired taste in books based off of previously purchased or download books. To do this make sure you are on the "Featured" tab, you can find that in the bottom menu bar (see the first image above), if you are not in the Featured section tap it to open up the Featured page. With the Featured page open scroll to the bottom of the page until you see the Quick Links section, within the Quick Links you should see a My Alerts category. Select My Alerts and a My Alert page will open.
With it open you will see all the books from the authors you either set up alerts for or other books from authors whose books you have previously purchased or downloaded in iBooks.
You can also tap the "Manage My Alerts" button on the top right of this page and a popup window will appear with several settings to choose from. Here you will see a list of all the authors you have set up alerts for, also you can remove them from the list by uncheck marking them and tapping done. You can also set up email alerts or alerts based on previous purchases. Once you have finished adjusting your alerts just tap the blue "Done" button and your changes will be saved.
